I remember a conversation we had at the dining room table...one of those after meal and clean up moments when the discussion of politics came up- hahaha- and at one point Cathy lit up and said, "Yes, Bette Mae is a socialist" and we all were laughing when we then entered into whether I might be a communist without a nasty czar like personality in the mix. We laughed til my throat was sore and my eyes were watering. I remember her holding my kids. Her kindness was freely given and to those she loved, she seemed to be able to make it known not always in those words, but in her actions.
